Sakai Ra11y

rA11y plan logo: features WCAG 2 Certificate

The RA11Y Plan (Review Accessibility Plan) is an initiative by the Sakai Accessibility Working Group to commission a substantive review of Sakai’s accessibility by an NFB-like group with a goal of obtaining a certification, including a VPAT and WCAG2-based review, that would assure potential adopters and current users alike.  Sakai has a good history of accessibility but resources are limited and new developments in Sakai need to be reviewed and brought up to standard.

Phase 1 - 09/01/2015 to 08/31/2016
Fully funded and Completed

Phase 2 Start Date: 09/01/2016
Anticipated Phase 2 End Date: 08/31/2017

In Phase 2 we are looking for developers to resolve issues, and funds to commision development and a final review.

Sakai Native Rubrics

The Rubrics work is in progress. As of summer 2017, Unicon has built the rubric management service and integration with the Sakai Assignments tool; however, more work is needed before the rubric service can be included in core Sakai. Longsight is currently working on the rubrics integration with GradebookNG. Rubrics will not be in the Sakai 12.0 release, but we anticipate that they will be added in a 12.1 or 12.2 release early in 2018. See the Sakai Native Rubrics project page for more information and links.

Start Date: 10/30/2016
Anticipated End Date: 2018
